“The trash and litter of nature disappears into the ground with the passing of each year, but man’s litter has more permanence.”
– John Steinbeck
Rubbish.
Junk.
Trash.
Garbage.
Refuse.
Litter.
No matter what you call it, someone has to pick it up.
So, on this Labor Day, to the men and women who pick up the trash in our offices, our neighborhoods, are airports, our parks, our streets, out monuments, our playgrounds, and well, anywhere …
… without fanfare … without fame …
… without trade associations … perhaps without unions …
… here’s to you!
Thanks.
Today’s gift of time … Our exchange student, Kate, and I picked up trash in our neighborhood, where I’m the local Solv volunteer.
This weekend’s gift of time … My wife and I took 5 kids camping. Sharing our fun with a friend of our children’s is time well spent.
